BBC Steel Corporation
started life as U.S. Cage Company. In 1969, Dean and Diana Boyer
(that's us) purchased the small company that specialized in
fabricating pet cages. As with many start-ups, BBC operated
out of our garage in the early years. By 1974, we decided it
was time to move up and out of the garage and into a newly purchased
warehouse that we had adapted to the needs of our growing business.
Today, our growing family works diligently
in order to continue our tradition of success. Diana, our son
Tony and Diana's sister, Dayna, work in the office, while our
other son Todd manages the second shop and remnant yard, which
is located across the street from our main facility. (We’ve
already got spots reserved for our 5 grandchildren.) It has
truly become a family affair, with a highly valued and experienced
supporting cast of programmers, machine operators, drivers,
and administrative staff.
We at BBC understood the importance of updating
and adding to our range of equipment from the very beginning.
The early years required putting nearly all of our profits back
into this endeavor, in our drive to build a solid future. According
to Dean, "It takes good equipment and the right kind, to
be able to do the job right!" BBC today boasts two shops
full of lasers, burning machines, shears, rolling machines,
water jets, press brakes and saws, and we recently added a lathe,
milling machine and plasma burner to our broad range of steel
fabricating equipment. Across the street from our main facility,
we have a five-acre remnant yard and a well-stocked warehouse
full of bar stock and plate in steel, stainless steel and aluminum.
Next time you're in the neighborhood, keep
an eye out for the BBC All-Steel Mobile (pictured above), a
restored 1937 Ford Sedan Delivery constructed entirely of steel.
At BBC, the same attitude that led Dean to accomplish such a
painstaking restoration means that all of us strive to meet
the needs of our customers 100%. We firmly believe in providing
you with outstanding service, on-time delivery, and high-quality
products at competitive prices. Those are more than platitudes
at BBC Steel Corporation. They are the words we live by.
